32 Ship’s chains

Henry Wood & Co Chain and Anchor Works was one of the first companies to move to the new Saltney Wharf in 1847. They won a prize medal for chain cables at the Great Exhibition in 1851 and later went on to make anchors for the SS Great Eastern, some of them weighing seven tons.
