JT Burrows’ Collection, Prestatyn

During 2024, an exhibition ‘We do like to be beside the seaside’ was on display in libraries and other locations in Prestatyn, Rhyl and Rhuddlan to show some of J T Burrows photographs. The exhibition not only gave an insight into J T Burrows and his family, but showed the changes in Prestatyn as it developed as a seaside resort from the late Victorian period into the early part of the 20th Century.

Drop in sessions were held so that the community could see a wider range of photographs and help with providing more information. School children also had ‘Then and Now’ sessions where they learnt about J T Burrows and could see how Prestatyn had changed over the last 130 years by comparing old photographs with present day views. A talk was also given to the Flintshire Historical Society.

Contact NEWHF if your organisation is interested in having talk about the collection.

You can find out more about J T Burrows and the collection under the HERITAGE heading on this website.
