89 Downing Bowl

This bowl is made from the ‘Fairy Oak’ that grew in the grounds of Downing Hall, the home of Thomas Pennant, the famous naturalist, antiquarian and travel writer. Pennant describes how a couple left their sick child under the oak overnight and were convinced the fairy folk had cured the child.
