This smoking hat belonged to the iconic Welsh poet John ‘Ceiriog’ Hughes who wrote many famous poems and songs including Myfanwy, Nant y Mynydd and Ar Hyd y Nos. Smoking hats were worn to stop hair smelling of smoke.
