Wrexham Carnival of Words History Day

Six events with a focus on local history.

11:00 – Local writer Peter Evans spins some yarns from his book about the Alun, Resurrection River
12:00 – Author Barbara Erskine chats about the weird and wonderful stories she’s uncovered while researching the history of the Welsh Marches
13:00 – Author Anthony Riches talks about the Romans in North East Wales, the research background to his novels, and the development of Hope’s Park in the Past project (includes re-enactments).
14:00 – Andrew Green shares the background to his amazing book Wales In A Hundred Objects
15:00 – A panel of authors talks about writing the history of Wrexham and North East Wales
16:00 – Stories and Poems of the Royal Welch Fusiliers (includes re-enactments), plus Special Guest appearance by military historian Peter Doyle, author of Percy: A Story of 1918.

There will be displays and exhibitions from local history groups in the Memorial Hall’s side rooms.
