The 314-million-year-old Fossil Forest at Stori Brymbo is set to appear on national television as part of series 13 of the BBC programme, Digging for Britain.
The episode showing the Brymbo excavation is currently scheduled to be broadcast on February 4 at 8pm, although viewers are advised to check TV listings closer to the time as schedules may change.

Heneb – the Trust for Welsh Archaeology – is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from individuals who would like to join our Regional Advisory Panels. These panels play a vital role in shaping the future of archaeology in Wales by providing insight, guidance, and fresh perspectives on our work.
We are particularly keen to hear from:
- Younger people who can bring new ideas and energy
- People from diverse communities to ensure our archaeological work reflects and serves all of Wales
- People with disabilities whose lived experience can help us make heritage more inclusive
Your voice matters. By joining a Regional Advisory Panel, you’ll help influence decisions, share your knowledge, and contribute to preserving and promoting Wales’ heritage for future generations.
Regional Advisory Panels (RAPs)
Heneb operates across Wales through four regional panels:
- Gwynedd
- Clwyd-Powys
- Glamorgan-Gwent
- Dyfed
When applying, please indicate which region you are most interested in supporting.

Please send your Expression of Interest to hello@heneb.org.uk by 3 May 2026 in one of the following formats:
- Covering letter (written)
- Video or voice note
Along with either: - CV or
- Oral description of your experience
Tell us why you’d like to be involved, what you can bring to the panel, and any relevant experience or interests.
