OS Map Reference - SJ 258 519, (OS Explorer Map 256)

    Directions -

From the A525 Ruthin to Wrexham Road, turn West onto the B5426, Minera Hall Road, (travelling from Wrexham direction that’s a left turn and if from Ruthin that’s a right turn). In the village of Minera, from Minera Hall Road turn right into Church Road. Stay on Church Road for about ½ mile passing Tyn y Capel Inn on the left and St Mary’s Church on the right and then turn left into Maes-y-Ffynnon Road. At the end of Maes-y-Ffynnon road is the car park and Quarry entrance.

Possibly to be arranged on the day - the short walk walkers may consider a car-share drive from Minera Quarry to Minera Lead Mine for a quick look.

    John adds

If we started at 1000 hours and the short walk walked very slowly then perhaps we could all meet up about 1300 hours in the Tyn Y Capel pub in Minera. (The Tyn-Y-Capel is an ancient coaching Inn with records dating back to 1250 AD and described as a monks retreat.  The monks on their pilgrimage from Vale Crucis Abbey would visit the site and it is thought they would stop to feed the lepers who lived on Minera Mountain in the caves, through the mullion window in the wall of the pub……)
