A talk for the Buckley Society by Bryan Webb
The Air Transport Auxiliary was a civilian organisation that kept Britain's wartime aviation running smoothly, ferrying repaired, damaged, and newly built aircraft between factories, airfileds and maintenance units during the Second World War. Only about 10% of its pilots were women, yet today the A.T.A is often remembered through their pioneering achievements.
